Manufacturing Technology Center
Welcome to Asnuntuck Community College and the website for the Manufacturing Technology Center.
We provide opportunity to participate in college programs in electronics, welding, and precision machining technology, all of which involve state of the art facilities, equipment, and instruction. Students spend time in the classroom, computer lab, and the manufacturing center. What a wonderful way to learn! Study the subject in the classroom, design it in the lab, and produce it in the manufacturing center. More than 600 students have graduated from our technology programs and transitioned successfully to the private sector with the requisite technology and academic abilities to enhance their career goals and to benefit local industry, both short term and long range. Colleges must take a more meaningful approach to the realities of school to career for youth and adults. Our MODEL: one year certificate programs in manufacturing technology with a career focus, set in a community college, approximately 30 college credits, optional internship in the private sector, excellent prospects for career employment, entry level earnings of 30+ thousand, career mobility, competitive fringe benefits, and the option to work full time and attend classes part time with the longer term goal of achieving a two year or four year college degree. Students who complete an Associate in Science Degree in a program of manufacturing technology can apply for status as third year students in Central Connecticut State University’s School of Technology. Please check all the program and course options in precision machining, welding, and electronics, and consider carefully the opportunities for certificate, associate, and four year degrees and long term career employment. Stop by and visit or give us a call at 860.253.3189. The Manufacturing Technology Center website will be updated regularly so please check in frequently to view first hand what we are doing to enhance our courses and programs of technology.
