Asnuntuck Community College Foundation Scholarships Offered

Enfield, CT--The Asnuntuck Community College Foundation is offering eleven scholarships this year, three of which are for graduating high school seniors entering Asnuntuck Community College this fall.  The others are for continuing Asnuntuck Community College students.  Applications and descriptive materials are available from high school guidance offices, the Asnuntuck Community College Foundation web site (http://www.acc.commnet.edu/accfoundation/index.htm), and the College Financial Aid office.   Application deadline is 4:00 PM Thursday, April 17, 2008.

One new scholarship was established this year by Joseph Simanski, Jr., and his family on his retirement as Director of Human Resources at the college.  This scholarship will help a student for whom English is a second language or a student who has completed certain preparatory courses offered at Asnuntuck.

Another relatively new scholarship is funded by the Western Massachusetts Chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association to advance their interest in strengthening the future of precision machining in the region.  Successful applicants must enroll in the Asnuntuck Community College Machine Technology program.

Rockville Bank is funding scholarships for continuing Asnuntuck Community College students in business-related fields (business office technologies, accounting, information systems, for instance).  The Michele Metta-Kahn Scholarship will go to one non-traditional female student graduating Asnuntuck and continuing to a baccalaureate program.

Asnuntuck Community College serves students from throughout the region, particularly Suffield, East Granby, Windsor Locks, East Windsor, Enfield, Somers, Ellington, and Stafford.  The Asnuntuck Community College Foundation raises funds for student scholarships, faculty program enhancements, and other projects to enrich the life of the college and its students.
