360 Federal Credit Union gives gift of books

Enfield, CT--A parade of books will highlight the celebration at Asnuntuck Community College when the 360 Federal Credit Union (formerly Hamilton Sundstrand Federal Credit Union) presents a gift of more than 200 books to the College’s Children’s Reading Room.  On Friday, December 14, 2007, at 11:00 AM, children who use the Reading Room will accept the gift from the Credit Union and help to fill bookshelves cleared for this purpose.

Throughout the year, the 360 Federal Credit Union ran fundraising events for these books.  They sold rubber ducks; they held “dress-down days,” and more. The books were donated by Credit Union members of the local community and staff. Their chosen beneficiary, the Children’s Reading Room at Asnuntuck Community College, is a cooperative child care service provided by the college for students, faculty, and staff.  Parents whose children attend the Reading Room “pay” for the service by working there themselves.  For more information please contact the Children’s Reading Room Coordinator, Pam Keenan, 860.253.3040.
