Asnuntuck Community College ranks 4th in CT for largest five-year

(2002-2007) gains in degrees conferred

 

Enfield, CT--Asnuntuck Community College was recently mentioned in the Connecticut Department of Higher Education’s Report on 2006-2007 Degrees Conferred by Connecticut Institutions of Higher Education having increased degrees conferred 32% in fives year spanning from 2002-2007. The other colleges with increases included Charter Oak State College (56%), Albertus Magnus College (43%) and University of Connecticut (43%) and Quinnipiac University (31%). Asnuntuck’s large growth areas were in Manufacturing Technology Certificates, Associate Degrees and Certificates in Business Administration, and Associate Degrees in Liberal Arts. The report refers to the state’s need to increase associate degree recipients in health and technology fields to meet the demand for highly-skilled workers. Asnuntuck Community College is offering a new Health Career Pathways Certificate to prepare students to enter health care programs at the community colleges which will result in more of what Connecticut needs--more qualified health care workers.
