| For immediate release- March 23, 2007 Asnuntuck Community College presents Al Gore’s movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” on Tuesday, April 10 Enfield, CT-- Asnuntuck Community College’s Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, will be hosting a program on Tuesday, April 10 at 12:30 p.m. in the ACC auditorium. They will be showing Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth,” which offers a passionate and inspirational look at one man’s fervent crusade to halt global warming’s deadly progress in its tracks by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it. The movie will be followed by a discussion with Dr. Anji Seth, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Seth’s research seeks to understand how and why climate varies, and how changes in climate are likely to evolve in the next century in particular regions. Her work employs global and regional numerical climate models. She has studied the climate of South America, Southern Africa, and the United States. Dr. Seth’s current projects include ancient climate of Antarctica and the future of climate in the Andean Highland and the Northeast US. Dr. Seth earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Michigan. She has held positions as Graduate Fellow and Visiting Scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO and as Staff Scientist at the International Research Institute for Climate and Society at Columbia University. Dr. Seth also holds adjunct faculty positions at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and Columbia University in New York City. The event will be free and is open to the public.
