Asnuntuck Community College Professor presents “Young Children’s Health & Well Being: Nurturing Connections to Nature”

Enfield, CT -- Asnuntuck Community College Professor Polly Parker is please to offer a free academic colloquium titled “Young Children’s Health & Well Being: Nurturing Connections to Nature” on Friday, October 26 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Café II at the College.

Ms. Parker will discuss why there is a critical need to create opportunities for young children, teachers and their families to play outside, to enhance our playgrounds with gardens and natural materials and to offer experiences to connect young children to nature.

The colloquium is free and open to the public. Lunch will be served as well. Please bring a natural object from nature with you, such as a seashell, a pinecone, a stone, or another object. We will create a sculpture with your treasures. Be prepared to share your childhood memory of being in the out-of-doors. Please RSVP at 860.253.3101 before Tuesday, October 23, 2007.
