For Immediate Release, July 28, 2005 New Coordinator of Institutional Advancement joins Asnuntuck Community College
Asnuntuck Community College Foundation, Inc. welcomes Laura V. Marchese as the new Coordinator of Institutional Advancement. Laura has over 15 years of experience in working in all facets of the non-profit arena, including working on the local, state and national levels. She comes from working as an Executive Director for a statewide health organization and the Administrative Director for the CT and Hartford Association for the Education of Young Children. Laura Marchese attended Becker College and is a graduate of Central CT State University. She has a Bachelors Degree of Science with dual certification in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. She holds a CT state teaching certificate in Pre-K through 8th grade. Laura is seeking to complete her Master’s in Business Administration and Technology.
Laura resides in Newington, CT with her husband, two boys and her friendly feline. Laura enjoys working in the community with both the private and public sector. She currently serves on several non-profit boards, including Co-Vice President for Research of Ovarian Cancer and Continued Survival (R.O.C.C.S.). Also, she has been very active with the United Way of the Capital Area, Community Health Charities and the CT Advocacy Forum. Laura always believes in the cause and the need to help others.
At Asnuntuck Community College Foundation, Inc., she will be responsible for the daily operations of the foundation and working with the board of directors. Laura will coordinate the annual fund campaign and the major fundraising events for the college.
The Asnuntuck Community College Foundation, Inc. was formed in October 1998 and consists of a nineteen person board of directors. The primary mission of the Foundation is to obtain funds from corporations, alumni, and the general community to assist in the development of programs to meet the economic, educational, and employment needs of North Central Connecticut.
