| For immediate release- June 1, 2007 Asnuntuck Community College honors Mark Rosen with the Board of Trustees Merit Award Enfield, CT—Mark Rosen of Bloomfield, CT will be presented the Board of Trustees Merit Award at Asnuntuck Community College’s commencement on Friday, June 1. Rosen has been a long time supporter of the college and member of the ACC Foundation Board for seven years. Mark Rosen was born in Hartford, CT and attended the Watkinson Private School. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology from George Washington University, and his Master’s in Education from the Catholic University of America. He did post graduate work at Sonoma State University and served in the Army Reserve for 6 years. His philanthropy is well documented. Rosen served as the President of the Solomon Schechter Day School, was an active member on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, and was Chairman of the Southern New England Consortium Partners. In 1995 and 1996, he was North Central CT Chamber of Commerce’s Member of the Year. For 30 years, he and his father have offered college scholarships for Windsor Locks and Enfield High School graduates. Mark Rosen and his father have been McDonald’s franchise owners for many years and Mark succeeded his father in1989. A constant believer in the Importance of lifelong education he has offered all of his employees stipends to attend classes at Asnuntuck Community College. He has served on Asnuntuck Community College Foundation Board and Regional Advisory Committee since the year 2000. During this time he has provided his services, ideas, and financial support to the Foundation. Recently he made an endowed donation of $14,000 to be used for students that pursue entrepreneurship opportunities, and the study of business. The Board of Trustees Merit Award was established to recognized extraordinary service or lifetime commitment to Asnuntuck Community College and the Community-Technical College System.
