Changing of the Guard- New Dean of Students joins Asnuntuck Community College

Enfield, CT—Asnuntuck Community College welcomed Kathleen A. Watkins as the new Dean of Students on Monday, March 26, 2007. Ms. Watkins is the successor to long time Asnuntuck employee, Vince Fulginiti, who retired in January after 33 years of service to the State and community. In her role as Dean of Students, Ms. Watkins serves on the President’s management team, supervising all areas in student services including: the information center, admissions, financial aid, counseling, career services, registration, student government, children’s reading room, graduation, and transfer services.

Ms. Watkins comes to Asnuntuck with over 20 years experience in higher education administration. She was formerly the Dean of Students at Dean College and Coordinator of Community Education at Westfield State College. In addition, she has held positions in academic advising, first year programs, student activities, and residence life. She holds a Masters of Art in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education from Lesley College, in Cambridge, MA. She is a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and the University Continuing Education Association.

Ms. Watkins and her husband reside in Feeding Hills, MA.
