Candlelight Vigil and "In hope of Peace"Coffee house March 10th

Enfield, CT --On Monday, March 10, Asnuntuck Community College, 170 Elm Street, Enfield,  will hold a candlelight vigil for peace and the safe return of our troops, followed by an evening of poetry and music to mark the fifth anniversary of the beginning of the War in Iraq.

The candlelight vigil will be held from 7.30-8.00 PM outside the front entrance of the college.  At 8.00 PM, the “In Hope of Peace” reading will begin in the Coffee House in CafĂ© II, with Asnuntuck faculty, staff, and students reading their own poems and poems by others, all with a focus on peace.  The reading will also feature guitar music by Eduardo Rocha and Judy Simonds.   The formal reading and music section of the evening will be followed by an open mic, so that others may share their poems and music about peace, as part of our collective healing and hope for a peaceful world.

The vigil and the reading are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served during the Coffee House.

The Coffee House is made possible through the generous support of the Asnuntuck Community College Foundation.
