Asnuntuck Community College to hold a Candlelight Vigil and Poetry for Peace Coffee House on Monday, September 10

Enfield, CT --On Monday, September 10, Asnuntuck Community College will hold a candlelight vigil for peace and the safe return of our troops, followed by an evening of poetry and music commemorating September 11, 2001.

The candlelight vigil will be held from 7.30-8.00 pm outside the front entrance of the college. At 8.00 pm, the Poetry for Peace reading will begin in the Coffee House in Cafeteria II, with Asnuntuck faculty, staff, and students reading their own poems and poems by others, all with a focus on peace.

The formal reading section of the evening will be followed by an open mic, so that others may share their poems and music about peace, as part of our collective healing and hope for a peaceful world.

The vigil and the reading are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served during the Coffee House. For information contact Edwina Trentham at 860-253-3105 or etrentham@acc.commnet.edu or Mike Moran at 253-3171 or mmoran@acc.commnet.edu
