Corporate scholarship sponsors and student recipients honored at Asnuntuck Community College

Enfield, CT- Asnuntuck Community College Foundation Inc., honored five corporate sponsors who generously gave money to the annual golf tournament which in turn provided a scholarship for six Asnuntuck students this fall.  360 Federal Credit Union, Aerodyne Alloys, L.L.C, Allied Community Services, Follett Higher Education Group, and Savings Institute Bank & Trust were this year’s corporate sponsors. 

The golf tournament raised over $16,000 for the foundation.Bill McGurk, President and CEO of Rockville Bank, spoke about the importance of giving to the foundation. He stated that the foundation is doing good things.  As a board member he appreciates the support the foundation receives from the community. 

Students receiving scholarships included Elizabeth Jones, Carissa Figelski, Patricia Newmeth, Shirleyann Bessett, Kristie Joubert, and Frank Magana.

The college and students wish to thank each of the corporate sponsors for their generosity.  Without the support of local businesses and the community, many students would not be able to attend Asnuntuck.

The mission of the Asnuntuck Community College Foundation is to obtain fund from corporate, alumni, and community members to assist in the development of programs to meet the economic, educational, and employment need of North Central Connecticut
