Academic Skills Center

The Academic Skills Center, the learning support center on campus, is committed to helping Asnuntuck students achieve their goals. The staff of professional tutors offers one-on-one and small group tutoring in a variety of subjects. Tutoring supplements classroom instruction and

may include assistance with organizing and revising written assignments, review of key concepts

related to course content, test preparaton, and study skills. In addition to in-person tutoring, during the spring and fall semesters, Asnuntuck students can access online tutoring in writing, math, accounting, biology, chemistry, and anatomy and physiology by going to www.eTutoring.org and following instructions on the homepage.

Ten computers with Internet and printer connections are available in the Center for student use on a first come first served basis. Students are invited to take advantage of computerized tutorials in mathematics and also its collection of videotapes that supplement mathematics textbooks currently used in developmental through pre-calculus courses.
